A combine harvester machine is valuable agricultural machinery that can harvest, winnow, and thresh rice, corn, wheat, pulses, and other types of crops straight from the field. Harvesting crops with the help of combine machine can save time as well as human labour, and cut the overall work costs for producers. These farm machines can increase farming output since the collection is carried out more efficiently, and this, in aid, can make agriculture more profitable.
Use of Combine Harvester A combine harvester is a combination of harvesting and thresher in one machine, allowing producers to finish the harvesting and threshing work in a single go. A combine machine is used for harvest crops like Paddy, oats, wheat, corn, sorghum, sunflower, barley, rye, linseed, canola and soybean. History of Combine Harvester In 1835, Hiram Moore developed and registered the first combine machine in the US. Hiram Moore's combine machine was capable of reaping, threshing, and winnowing cereal grain. This machine pulled by horse, mule, or ox. Later in 1882, Australian Hugh Victor McKay developed first commercial combine harvester called the Sunshine Harvester. Working of Combine Harvester When collecting crops, a combine machine can be greatly helpful. It is a combination of different parts, like header, the reel, the cutter bar and others. The header helps the main feature of any combine harvester. This complete the tasks like pick-up reel, which pulls the crop in the cutter bar. The cutter bar of header cuts the crops from down, then passes to a revolving reel which collects these cut crops. Later it goes into the threshing area, which very immediately separates the grains from the stalks. From here, the grains transferred into another stage, that perform the unloaded work of grains. The stalks, on the other hand, are pushed back onto the ground they were harvested from. For the type of crop multi-crop combine harvester used. Types of a Combine Harvester The combine harvester can be implemented with different heads for various crop and the same harvester machine can be used for harvesting various crops. There are mainly five types of combine machines accessible in the farm equipment market.
